Jane Mackay Website Copywriting Project

Jane’s vibe from our first call was memorable.

And by “memorable,” I mean lots of laughter, explicit details on what she wanted, and a positive aura.

The best part of the call?

She knew her target client to a “T”—and that made my job such a breeze.

I say it every time, but I’ll say it again. If you want to write website copy that connects and converts, you need to really know who you’re talking to.

That’s why I created the Ideal Client Handbook, which will help you extract the connection points you need to write copy that hooks your dream clients.

Come along as I take you behind the scenes to see the entire copy process of Jane’s website relaunch.

Meet Jane,

STRATEGIC GUIDE FOR GIFTED ADULTS

Three things are clear.

Jane is intelligent, warm, and EXPERIENCED.

She has been a pro editor for 20+ years and a lowkey cheerleader for creative geniuses.

And now?

She’s an elite guide, ready to give personalized support to help more gifted people (like her) and help them go from “dreams” to “functional reality.”

Jane knows what it’s like to be gifted—to think and see differently. It was hard to find a coach who understood how her mind worked. So, she became the coach she wanted.

She provides an unboxed solution (whatever you want without restriction) to help you go from aspiration to accomplishment.

The challenge

Jane’s website catered to her creative writing and editing profession.

She wanted to revamp and relaunch a website that embodies her vibe and vision—copy and design-wise.

As an elite guide, Jane wanted website copy that:

  1. Shows she knows exactly what her target clients are going through, what they’re feeling, and what they want.
  1. Positions her as an expert they can trust.

Jane has the capability and the results, as she’s helped her past clients achieve tangible results after providing strategic guidance, even as their editor.

And she wanted her website copy to reflect all of this in an UNCONVENTIONAL way.

One thing worth noting is how well Jane understands the importance of having professional copy on a business website.

The solution

We kicked off the website copy process with a deep-dive call to discuss Jane’s answers to her brand questionnaire in more detail and her goals.

Her mission is to give gifted adults the guidance they need to birth their ideas. So, every other page has to reflect this alongside her core values.

Jane’s copy is relatable because she, like her target clients, is a gifted visionary too.

She knows what it feels like to get stuck in a creative loop of your “imagination.” And she knows how hard it can be for them to find someone who understands how their minds work.

Sections like this will help her ICA feel seen because Jane gets them.

The secret to converting your ideal clients begins with connecting with them. If you can get them to think, “Finally, someone who gets me… you’ll win their trust.”

Her message positions her as an expert who knows can help her clients get the transformation they desire from 9-month unboxed support.

Unboxed because her service is fluid without a fixed deliverable. Her elite guidance can be adapted to a client’s specific needs, depending on what they want to achieve.

This is why she calls herself a “strategic guide” rather than a “coach.”

Also, I threw in a personality splash so her readers can see how fun and relatable Jane is in real life, and what her journey has been like before she became the guidance expert she is.

The review

“I wanted a writer whose work had a zing that conventional copywriting doesn’t, and that was why I chose Sally. I also liked that she has a background in the sciences.

She provided the fervor as well as the boldness my website message needed that I hadn’t considered beforehand.

I enjoyed working with Sally because of her energy, structure, user experience, and desire to provide outstanding service. She is straightforward, and it made everything so much easier. structure and user experience.” ~ Jane Mackay

When you work with me, you’ll be assured of getting not just the perfect copy for your business but the coolest experience too.

Remember that Jane has been a professional editor for over 20 years? Well, she flexed her skills on the website copy.

The wrap-up

It was a creative experience addressing gifted visionaries, and Jane made it easy because she knew exactly what she wanted. The copy sits in a website design by Fiona Robertson

The final website made Jane so happy because it reflects her vision and vibe. Check out the live site.
