How to Make More Money With a Funnel While Doing Less

Want to learn how to make more money with a funnel, grow your business, and enjoy your freedom without having to do more? This is how.
Many months ago, I got tired of running my business.
I was breaking my back trying to make things click, but I didn’t see myself making any notable progress.
I was tiring of running in circles. Posting on Instagram, sending cold emails, writing blog posts, showing up on LinkedIn, and engaging in Facebook groups—yet, nothing was happening for me… until I found my way to BREAKTHROUGH.
And I see it all the time—
Passionate business owners who are now exhausted and frustrated because their business isn’t growing proportionally to their efforts.
Today, I want to share a better way. Creating a sales system that works while you sleep (or, you know, do literally anything else besides marketing 24/7).
This post is for you if:
- You feel exhausted by your marketing efforts
- You’re creating tons of content but seeing little return
- Your sales process feels random and unpredictable
- You can’t take time off without your marketing (and sales) coming to a halt
- You’re not sure which of your marketing efforts is actually working
The “Be Everywhere” Trap
When I first started my business, I took the concept of visibility quite literally.
My daily checklist looked something like: Post on Instagram -> Write a LinkedIn post -> Send an email newsletter -> Write a blog post -> Plan next week’s content.
And I was doing this EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Why? Well, I wanted visibility.
Worse still, I didn’t gain any. All I had was too much free info, so no one needed to hire me.
My health declined, my account was empty, and my sales didn’t reflect the effort I was putting in.
For the first time since I started running my business, I thought about quitting.
What I didn’t understand then (but do now) is that visibility doesn’t automatically equal profitability. Being seen everywhere doesn’t matter if those eyeballs aren’t converting into something.
What’s worse is that splitting your efforts might result in no visibility at all.
The Offer-Led Sales Funnel Alternative
After a series of analyses, tests, and failed creations, everything changed when I discovered sales funnels. I’ve since been creating these funnel systems for myself and clients.
- I made almost $16,000 in done-for-you services through a Slack funnel.
- Sam sold $2700 within the first 5 hours of launching his $297 product.
- Tobi got a 10x increase in course sales.
- On my lifestyle blog, I got to 12,000 monthly sessions in three months, qualified for Journey by Mediavine, gained over 900 subscribers, and made sales for my first product within a week of launching.
So, believe me when I say this works.
Instead of random marketing tactics or creating hundreds of blog posts just to get a lead, a sales funnel allows you to easily turn visitors into leads and leads into customers.
In fact, I shared my entire process for mapping out profitable sales funnels in this FREE funnel workshop.
Here’s how to make a sales funnel work for you while doing less:
1. Choose ONE Primary Traffic Source
Yes, just one. At least to start.
This goes against everything you’ve probably heard, but trust me on this. Mastering one platform will bring you more results than being mediocre on five.
So, how do you choose? Ask yourself:
- Where are my ideal clients already hanging out?
- What content format do I actually enjoy creating?
- Where your strengths lie. Are you a natural writer? Start with blogging or LinkedIn. Great on camera? YouTube or Instagram might be your jam.
- What platform will give you a result that’s directly proportional to your efforts?
For me, it was Slack. I enjoyed having personal talks with other experts, chirping into conversations, and there were always job postings.
(Let me state that I sometimes get traffic, leads, and even clients because of my SEO strategy. So, that’s kind of an extra factor to consider.)
I had a $250 month before my Slack win. Yes, a mere $250. And the next month, I had bagged a $15,800 deal.
So, go where your people are, and be known there.
2. Create a Simple Content Ecosystem
Once you’ve chosen your primary platform, build a simple ecosystem around it:
1. Your home base: Your services page, a sales page, or a landing page where people can learn more and/or eventually purchase.
2. Your nurture-to-sales channel: Usually emails and a sales page, where you can deepen the relationship over time.
3. Your primary content platform: Where they’ll get educational content that showcases your expertise. In my case, it was my blog.
That’s it. Three components. Not fifteen.
The magic happens in how these three elements work together:
- Your primary platform attracts new people through your traffic source
- Your home base converts their browsing into interest
- Your nurture-to-sales channel builds relationships that lead to sales
3. Map Your Customer’s Journey
Now, think about the steps someone takes from stranger to customer:
Awareness → Retention → Conversion.
(Learn more about the ARC framework here.)
For each stage, create specific content that addresses their needs at that moment:
- Awareness content: Educational posts that address common problems
- Retention content: More specific solutions, case studies, and FAQs
- Conversion content: Testimonials, guarantees, and detailed breakdowns of your approach
These pieces of content will be your traffic drivers. Create them as carousels, text posts, blog content, pins, or YouTube videos—depending on whichever platform you decide to focus on.
4. Maximize & Expand Your Reach
I said, “Have a primary traffic source.”
That means you can (and should) have a secondary traffic source to maximize your visibility.
Consider your time and energy resources. If you have some to spare, ramp up content promotion on this other source.
For me now, that’s Pinterest.
Here’s where you really save your sanity:
- Content batching: Set aside one day to create a month’s worth of content for your platform(s).
- Repurposing: Content isn’t “once written and done.” Turn one piece of content into multiple formats. For example, you can turn a blog post into social media snippets, an email series, and maybe even a podcast episode.
- Analytics: Track your funnel metrics to hone in on what’s working and tweak what needs improvement. This way, you can increase your conversion rate without doing more.
