I dove through the thick of SaaS SEO writing (a story for another section) to become a copy expert for creative ‘preneurs like you because: every passion-led business owner should be able to say what they mean. And so, I got my superhero vibe on (without the cape) to shine the light on your business with words that work.

I wasn’t always a copywriter

Growing up, I was (and wanted to be) many things.

I could argue a case in court and win (FYI: I’m a born arguer), loved crime thrillers, and (lemme not forget to mention) was crazy about reading and writing poems since I was five years old.

Best Student, Plant Biotechnology

My interest tilted toward the biological sciences, and I ended up studying Plant Biotechnology (BSc.). And since I’m a Type-Aer, I graduated as the best student in my department.

Reality Hits (& I Didn’t Like It)

The plan was to build a lab even though the smell of it made me sick to my intestines (some dream, huh?). After realizing I’d need money first, I looked for good jobs in vain and started looking for anything. It was no longer about dreams, I needed to survive.

Depression Phase

My long list of debts became sanity-threatening, and I wondered helplessly how I would pay them. Then, sh*t hit the fan and sent me straight into a 6-month depression phase. I could barely eat or think. Well, at least I could dance. Dancing was my coping mechanism.

Found Freelance Writing​

I recovered and started a baking business. It taught me about marketing, prompt deliveries, project scoping, and expectation management.

Baking was okay, but I wanted to feel excited about my life. So, I got into writing and quickly grew from being a generalist into a SaaS SEO writer working for brands like WordPress, HubSpot, and Moz.

Now, We’re Here

But I wanted clients I’d work with, not for. I wanted creatives who saw me as their partner in business progress. And that led me here.

Fun Facts About Me

My surname is pronounced “Oh-phone-yay-be.” See, that wasn’t so hard. And it means one man can’t live alone (like, without a family).

My favorite verse of the scripture is Isaiah 49:16. I LOVE the concept of God tattooing my name on the palm of His hands. He can’t ever forget about me. I’m a Christian, and that, for me, is reassurance.

Black is my match made in color heaven. Because if not, tell me why I always look so stunning in black, even if it’s an ugly sweater.

I’m obsessed with sunflowers because (1.)  they’re so damn gorg and (2.) they always look toward the sun (Iiteral mindset tip. IYKYK).

My best ideas come when I’m brushing my teeth at 8 a.m. or in the kitchen doing the dishes.

When I was little (like “elementary school” little), I thought I’d be a lawyer. Then I grew up, decided the sciences sounded cool, and studied Plant Biotechnology. Now, I’m a copywriter. Gimme a name.

Dancing is my stress relief therapy. Yup, I’m mostly wiggling my ass and twisting every inch of my body to pop music when I need a pick-me-up.
